I hardly think the song I have chosen for today needs any introduction. Many people are so familiar with the contents of this song, and although some of the sentiments it captures are very beautiful, it seems to have a Marmite effect on people.
My song with a one word title is “Imagine”. The words that always register most with me…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one– IMAGINE
I genuinely believe that the world needs dreamers. Not the kind of dreamers who are only imagining themselves as billionaires, lazing around on yachts or throwing parties with fountains of champagne. The world needs people with pure dreams – a world with no war or crime, no greed, no hunger, a world were all are at peace.
Two versions for you – the great man Mr Lennon himself and at the end of this post Emeli Sande – because her voice is so emotive.

Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Aha-ah... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion, too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
